Why?

It can track dozens of different sports, from running, cycling, yoga and even golf! A heart rate monitor is built into the watch so you can track your resting heart rate and train without a chest strap.

The watch comes with plenty of design options. The straps can be switched and you can personalize the display, even using a personal photo. The watch comes in four colors, Light Gold & Light Pink, White & Rose Gold, Black & Slate, Powder Gray & Silver and Shadow Gray & Silver.

The Garmin Vivoactive 4S comes with some excellent safety features. Using Garmin Livetrack you can broadcast your activity, letting people follow you in real time.

A major feature is the emergency button. If you find yourself in trouble, the button alerts family and friends notify them of your location. The watch also can detect if you’re in a bike crash, and will alert family.

If you like listening to music while you train, then this watch is what you want. You can download up to 500 songs onto your watch, from places like Spotify. You just connect your watch with some wireless headphones and you’re all set. We recommend these if you are after a quality but affordable wireless headphones.

In summary, it’s an excellent price at $329. All the Garmin tech, superb design and GPS make it the best ladies sports watch on the market.

So are you after an excellent fitness watch that is also a superb day to day smart watch?

Then the Apple Watch Series 5 is likely the watch for you.

Apple provides a large variety of apps to track your health, and this can be further enhanced with third party ones such as Strava! It has GPS tracking, heart rate monitoring, step count and training recordings.

You don’t need your phone nearby for the watch either! You can make calls, texts and play music. Perfect for when you’re out for a run and don’t want to carry a large phone with you!

If you’re in trouble, the watch has an SOS emergency feature, a useful safety feature!

The battery life is the main negative for this watch. 5 hours in GPS mode is on the lower end for expensive fitness watches. With 18 hours for day to day use.

If you’re really into your training then I recommend choosing one of the Garmin options. They’re the best in the business. If you want a brilliant day to day smart watch with some training options, then the Apple Watch Series 5 is the one for you!

The watch tracks several metrics, such as resting heart rate and looks at your workouts to give you a fitness score. Giving you comparisons of where you are for your age.

Through your phone you can deep dive the stats, and see how you have improved over time. I really enjoyed tracking my fitness score go up as I did more cardio over lock-down.

The watch can track if you’re feeling stressed and will give you some breathing tips to try and relax.

The phone screen itself is very clear and allows for notifications from your phone, such as text messages. It uses a touch screen instead of the buttons on the earlier models. Making it more like a smart watch, it now allows you to do wireless payments!
